Meet Carroll, teamSalient® practitioner, and team coach

Tell us about your background, and what led you into coaching.

My career has two tracks: one that began in sales and ended as a Board-level Sales Director. At the same time, I trained and practiced as a Psychotherapist in my spare time. After this, I put all of my energy into helping people develop their potential, set up my first business and ended up working for Siemens Enterprise Solutions in a senior role using my coaching skills.

I have continued coaching ever since, as I have a desire to help people to thrive in life.

What are your credentials/experience?

I am a qualified coach, team coach and mindfulness teacher essentially with lots of experience working with multi-national corporations with leaders up to board level.

What is your specialism?

My specialism is developing teams through team coaching; building resilience and well-being in leadership development.

Have you any professional designations or industry-related accomplishments?

I was recently part of the Covid-19 response team supporting primary care workers in the NHS through resilience and well-being focussed coaching.

Why did you choose team coaching?

The messiness of teams! They are complex and interesting.

What is different about you as team coach?

I focus on the present and what is happening in a team here and now and with what emerges. Some coaches are governed by an approach, mine is emergent and integrative.

How do you approach your work?

With curiosity, patience, openness and positivity.

What do you enjoy about your work?  What motivates you to do what you do?

Helping leaders and teams see the patterns that are holding them back, and then seeing people change is amazing.

What are your strengths?

My love of learning; curiosity; and tenacity.

How do your clients describe you?

As supportive yet challenging. A breath of fresh air!

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I run mindfulness groups from time to time and a retreat for women once a year.

What are your hobbies/pastimes/interests?

Paddle boarding, running 10ks, half marathons, marathons, quilting, and gardening.

What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Maya Angelou: “Be a Rainbow in Somebody Else’s Cloud.” “I’ve had so many rainbows in my clouds.”

What is the one thing that you would like to change in the world?

For everyone to be at least 1% kinder every day. That would make such a difference to relationships, to the climate, to life.
